Crested Butte is one of my favorite travel destinations in Colorado. (My other favorite is a mountain town called Durango, CO. Holy cow it’s pretty). It’s absolutely, stunningly beautiful during the beginning of the fall season when the leaves change to “Colorado” or high country gold, yellow, light green. When you approach Crested Butte and are surrounded by, what seems like a bowl of these colors, your spine tingles and you get chills. Ooof! Man. I promise–more to come on this (where to stay and eat, etc.).
In the meanwhile, check out the travel video of Crested Butte and Kebler Pass above. It’s during the end of September. Crested Butte’s community throws an annual autumn celebration, the Crested Butte Vinotok Festival, which is a thanksgiving type of celebration for the summer harvest. Vinotok Festinval culminates in a street parade with locals decked out in aspen, mountain-themed costumes. Check it out. I hope you like the video, and it inspires you to go. I promise you–it’s worth it!
