Overview: One of the first things you’ll notice about Chiang Mai’s Airport are the resorty, simple baggage claim conveyor belts. Not built for industrial traffic and weight (at least by the looks of them), the conveyor belts revolve slowly and they are surrounded by plants and foliage and representative Thai furnishings and advertisements.
Chiang Mai’s International Airport is relatively small but increasing its facilities due to the Chiang Mai’s popularity as a top tourist destination. It’s easy to get around because it’s just one long building with two floors. Arrival and departure drop off points are both in the front of the airport building.
Handicap Airport Services: The airport does have handicap services, like Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. It’s comprised of elevators and a friendly staff. The staff at the ticketing counter in Bangkok’s airport will see to it you receive assistance at the Chiang Mai International Airport.

Airport to City Center: Chiang Mai’s airport is located less than 10 minutes southwest of Chiang Mai’s city center. The cost to get to Chiang Mai’s city center, Old City, is very cheap. Arrange a ride through your hotel for 100 Baht or take a truck cab.
