Some Cool Los Angeles Buildings
Alright. There’s the Getty Center Museum, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, skyscrapers downtown and downtown’s LA Times building and City Hall, for sure. They are some of the oldest and/or most recognized buildings in LA. However, here are some buildings that stand out in my mind.
Grand Arts High School
This building, part of the Los Angeles Unified School District and formerly called Ramon C. Cortines High School of Visual and Performing Arts, of course stands out as a cool structure. The picture of the completed building was taken from the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels.
Location: 450 N Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012
Westwood Center
This is one sweet looking building. Among the corporate skyscrapers that dominate Westwood, a business and school district in Los Angeles, the Westwood Center is an urban, sleek and modern building that stands out. It’s a corporate building on the east side of Westwood Village and houses Napa Grill, a fine dining, corporate power lunch restaurant. And I’ve eaten there many times since I used to work in Westwood. I really never took notice of the building until I started this travel site. So here it is!
Location: 1100 Glendon Avenue, Westwood, CA 90024
Downtown LA Post Office Terminal Annex
Reminiscent of times past, this building near Union Station, which itself is a really pretty Spanish colonial building, just stands out as beautiful. It’s located in Chinatown in Downtown LA.
Location: 900 N Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90012
Capitol Records
Some (tons) of the biggest names in music were and are repped by Capitol Records. The distinctive Capitol Records building is located in Hollywood. It’s one of the landmarks in Hollywood.
Location: 1750 Vine St, Hollywood, CA 90028
