Toy District
Overview: Downtown would not be complete if they didn’t have something very specific for the kiddies – and adults. Just north of the Fashion District bounces around the playful Toy District, which starts at 5th St and ends at 3rd St between Los Angeles St and San Pedro St.
The Toy District is about twelve blocks of joy and pleasure as far as imported kids toys are concerned as well toys for adults. The area is in the heart of downtown. It’s not the cleanest but it is safe. Some of the toy stores encountered are ABC Toys, W.T. Toys, Tiny Toys and even a Casa Manga. The toys range anywhere from hotwheel cars to dolls and stuffed animals to pinatas. The Toy District, however, has tons more to offer than just toys. You’ll find all sorts of importers and wholesalers with electronics, dvds, video games and craft stores. Check out Boyd Street.
Cost: Depends on you
Parking: There are plenty of parking lots as well as street parking around this area. You may want to consider parking on Los Angeles St, however, the main street at the west border of the Toy District.
Accessibility: The Toy District is wheelchair accessible but some of the driveways and alleyways between the sidewalk curbs do become a bit jagged and rough. A few curbs don’t have ramps.
