Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall
Overview: The Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, or The Shrine as locals say, was the former home of the Academy Awards for several years and has hosted the Emmy Awards, MTV Music Awards and much more. It’s located just southeast of Downtown near University of Southern California.
The legendary 1926 Shrine has seen its 6300 seats filled with stars and common folk. The Shrine boasts some of the grandest events such as the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, American Music Awards and the Emmy Awards. Today, the unmistakable Shrine with its rustic domes, is a large act venue, sporting events, concerts with such acts as the Cure, conventions and other large events.
