Prague Metro System Ticketing & Process
TICKET PROCESS AND PURCHASE
At the Hlavni Nadrazi, metro tickets are sold at the counter at the north end of the station where the metro lines are. In addition, at Hlavni and any stop, there are yellow ticket kiosks labeled “Jidenky/Tickets” down at the platforms next to the lifts. You purchase, feed the ticket machine validator and head towards the platforms.
COST
Prague’s metro ticket prices are based on timeframes and zones, or “Pasmas.” There are short-term, single 14 CZK tickets which are good for 5 stations in 30 minutes time.
The ticket reads 20 for “Praze,” which means There is a 20 CZK that’ll last for 75 minutes and you’re able to use the same ticket on a metro, then make a connection on a tram and vice-versa. There is also a 80 CZK ticket which is good for all day. So, if you are in the Wenceslas Square area and want to take the metro Line A to Malo Stranska, purchase a 14 CZK, 2 Pasma ticket. Check out the picture to view the costs and other options. Children’s tickets are half the cost of adult tickets.
You can get a Flexpass which lets you travel by train any 3 days of unlimited travel but within a 15-day period. But you have to buy them in the US or Canada.
