National Hotel Frankfurt
Area: Hauptbahnof Area
Review: The National Hotel Frankfurt is a nice and pleasant hotel but wheelchair accessibility falls a little short. The front has a step to mount. However, if you enter the hotel through the back, the hotel is manageable if you’re in a wheelchair. In the back, there are a couple of steps but are literally about 1 to 2 inches and the space between them is pretty deep. If the door is closed, you can open it or you can knock and someone at the front desk, which is very near the back door, will open it. Backdoor entrance is on Wiesenhuttenplatz, where Hotel Savoy and Le Meridien are.
Breakfast buffet is included but the buffet is located up 4 steps in the back of the hotel. Hotel staff is more than willing to help you up.
Overall, however, I was pleased with the National Hotel Frankfurt and I found most of the staff very obliging and willing to accommodate my need to change rooms to one with a larger bathroom and my need for someone to help me up the stairs to the breakfast buffet. Lastly, the hotel is literally a few blocks from the Main River and Zeil Shopping Center and there is a nice, quaint park behind the hotel.
