Shopping in Frankfurt
One thing’s for sure in Frankfurt, the Frankfurters know how to dress and where to get their clothes. The Frankfurt folks have designated a central location to the shopping god, the Zeil, also dubbed “The Golden Mile.”
The Zeil, a pedestrian only zone, is located Hauptwache to the west and Konstablerwache to the east. This mega, outdoor shopping center will please even the most ardent shopper with its department stores, top retail stores (heard of H & M) and alternative botique stores. In the center of the Zeil shopping stretch is The Zeil Galerie, a megalith of a department store with over 50 stores covering eight levels. It’s ten stories high and plastered with mirrors on its exterior, giving it a sleek look.
