Eiserner Steg, Iron Bridge
Frankfurt’s Eiserner Steg, which stands for “Iron Bridge” or “Iron Footbridge,” stands as one of the must see and do structures in Frankfurt. It’s simply a beautiful structure and offers a spectacular view of the Main River, Frankfurt’s city center to the west, the quaint section of Sachsenhausen to the east and the spire of The Dom in the Römerberg area. It was built in the late 1860’s to connect Frankfurt’s city center with Sachsenhausen.
Location: The Eiserner Steg is located just south of Frankfurt’s Old City or Römerberg area.

Accessibility: The Eiserner Steg, Iron Bridge is wheelchair accessible. There are elevators on either side of the bridge.
