Frankfurt, Germany Travel Guide
About Getting Around Attractions Hotels Eats Essentials & Practicals
Intro to Frankfurt
Frankfurt, Germany may not be on top of anyone’s trip list because of its “boring” reputation as the financial capital of Germany. HOWEVER, there’s a lot happening in Frankfurt, especially since it holds some of the world’s most famous annual fairs and trade shows, including the Frankfurt Auto Show, a hot, hot show. So, you can’t look past Frankfurt as a cool and enjoyable destination. Frankfurt’s an exciting city with more than enough (beautiful) to do and see. And, as one of the larger international hubs of Europe, it has a reputation as being the most diverse of all German cities.
Frankfurt hosts more exciting – and some of the largest and most famous – conventions and trade shows such as the famous Frankfurt Auto Show and the Book Fair, than you can count. And, believe it or not, Frankfurt is a very beautiful city with lots of attractions. Frankfurt can proudly claim about thirty or so historical and cultural museums (how about the Goethe Museum for all you German Romantic readers?), well-known opera houses and its top attraction, the reconstructed and central Römerberg, or Old Town. About six of the trade fairs draw enough businessmen and tourists to give hotels the impetus to jack up their rates by 300%. Plan your hotel stay well in advance for cheaper rates.
Package really interesting and historical sites into one place AND wheelchair accessibility. That’s Frankfurt, Germany. It’s both easy to amuse yourself and get around in Frankfurt.
