LAYOUT
The tourist area in Ubud is really easy to get around – thank goodness! Jalan Raya Ubud is the main street running east and west. The locals refer to Jalan Ubud as “main street” and “Jalan Ubud.” Jalan Monkey Forest and Jalan Hanoman run north and south and intersect Jalan Raya Ubud at the north end and converge the Monkey Forest Park at the south end.
Most of Ubud’s highlights take place on Jalan Monkey Forest and Jalan Raya Ubud. And, most of the hotels, shops and nightlife are located on Jalan Monkey Forest and Jalan Raya Ubud.
Ubud, however, is only a small town that’s surrounded by many other villages, including Campuhan and Sayan to the west, Padang Tegal to the south, Taman and Laplapan to the east and Kedewatan to the north.
