Shanghai Railway Station
Overview: Shanghai has a handful of railway stations, including the main Shanghai Railway Station and Shanghai South Railway Station. The Shanghai Railway Station is easy to spot with its glass exterior. It has similar options to reach Beijing as the Beijing Railway Station has to reach Shanghai. You can take the D, Z and T trains from Shanghai to Beijing and their travel times are roughly between 10 to 12 hours. Trains from Shanghai to Hong Kong are on the T99 and T100 trains. A train travel time from Shanghai to Hong Kong is approximately 20 hours. This trip is best done in a soft sleeper.

Schedules:
Z trains leave the Shanghai Railway Station about 7:30pm and arrive in Beijing around 6:00am to 7:00am the next morning.
The D32 Train departs Shanghai at 10:50am and arrives at the Beijing station around 9:00pm the same day.
The T99/T100 Train leaves Shanghai at 5:00pm and arrives in Hong Kong around 1pm the next day.
Cost:
- Z Trains – just shy of 500 yuan and children’s tickets are about 340 yuan
- T Trains – about 500 for a hard sleeper, 800 yuan for a soft sleeper
- D Trains – soft seat is about 375 yuan and the hard seat costs 327 yuan
