Eats in Hong Kong
Hong Kong has some of the best Singapore Noodles in the world! There are a ton of delicious noodle eateries, pastry shops and sandwich joints. In addition, some great coffee shops with a hearty, tasty breakfast like Jimmy’s Kitchen on on Ashley Road, which is a couple blocks west of Nathan Road. Matter of fact, most of the delicious meals I’ve eaten at were at small, mom and pop restaurants west of Nathan Road in the Tsim Sha Tsui area.
The streets west of Nathan Road, around Peking and Ashley, are cleaner and are comprised mainly of some small stores and restaurants. Here, try a beef satay with noodles, or a soup. Definitely have some Singapore Noodles. You can also find the Hard Rock Cafe a couple of blocks west on Canton. And up Canton, a couple of blocks north of Peking, there are some cute, quaint dessert and snack stores.
I should let you know, a lot of chains like McDonald’s and Pizza Hut are actually down stairs. And, some little side places have steps to get into them. But, there are always people around to help out. There are also lots of local places that don’t have stairs in Kowloon, Mongkok and Hong Kong Island.
LIU YUAN PAVILION
Even though this is a budget oriented travel site, Liu Yuan Pavilion is a famous, popular and (very) high end restaurant known for its Shanghainese cuisines in the Wan Chai area on Hong Kong Island (eat street food for a few days to save up). Famous dishes include dragon dumplings, bouyant and fluffy pancakes stuffed with green onions, chicken and mushroom dishes and soups, fish, pan fried rice pancakes with red bean curd, Babao Fan, and a whole lot more.
