For over 30 years, the Jumbo Kingdom, a huge tourist draw with its Jumbo Floating Restaurant and other dining venues, entertainment plaza, cooking school and pier in Aberdeen Harbor on Hong Kong Island, exemplifies Hong Kong’s relentless pursuit of being a top tourist destination. The subtle (smile) Jumbo Floating Restaurant went under a major renovation in the early 2000’s, expanded and is now the ultra entertainment center that draws millions of tourists. But, the Jumbo Floating Restaurant is still the main draw of the Jumbo Kingdom. And, as the Jumbo website claims, this “ancient Chinese imperial palace” – or rather, the waterside kingdom – has served Queen Elizabeth II and stars like Tom Cruise.
