Cebu Beaches
Overview: Cebu happens to be one of the islands that has made the Philippines archipelago world famous for its beaches and scuba diving spots. Cebu’s 6 cities and more than 150 surrounding islands offer some of the most scenic beaches. There are scores of beaches in Cebu and here is a list of some of the highlights.
BADIAN
Badian is usually first on the list of great beaches in Cebu. It’s located on the southwest side of the main Cebu island and 97 kilometers from Cebu City. It’s small town or village known for a few things: sandy beaches, excellent diving and resorts and Kawasan Falls.
MOALBOAL
Moalboal is Badian’s partner just to the north. It’s known for its beaches but mainly, it reportedly has some of the best scuba diving in the Philippines.
CAMOTES ISLAND
This small group of islands – Poro Island, Ponson Island, Pacijan Island and Tulang Island – is located 37 miles northeast of Cebu City. The beautiful beaches are reportedly “unspoiled” by development.
MALAPASCUA ISLAND
I kept seeing local television ads for Malspascua Island. My friend stayed a week on this island, which is a small isolated island north of Cebu, to scuba dive. He claims the beaches and water are as gorgeous as anywhere he has been.
Getting There: Ocean Jet to Camotes Island will take about an hour and a half. Arrange through your hotel to reach Malapascua Island. Reach a deal with a cab driver to get to Badian and Moalboal since they are on Cebu’s main island.
