About Getting Around Attractions Hotels Eats & Nightlife Essentials & Practicals
Freedom Hotel
Area: Half a mile west of the Old Market and Old French on National Road 6. It’s about 15 minutes from Angkor Wat compound.
This hotel is decent and inexpensive. If you get a package tour from Bangkok, it’ll cost you around $450 US dollars, including 4 nights at the Freedom Hotel, transportation from the Siem Reap airport to the hotel and back. Includes breakfast as well. The first level room – you have to go up a narrow, concrete ramp. I’m sure if you told the hotel staff, they’d put something else there to make it wider.
By the way, if you don’t like to sleep with geckos in the room, this is not the hotel for you. Geckos in Siem Reap are all over. Why? Because they eat all the bugs. At the end of each day, I came back to my hotel room and I would see some small bugs on my bed. 🙂

Front Door: No front door to hotel except at the main business building
Ramp/Step: Yes steps and yes a ramp. The hotel may have widened the ramp as I suggested it when I was there.

Rooms, Bathrooms: No step in the room. Wide doorway into the bathroom or washing room and lots of space. No step into the bathroom. Had a bathtub with a removable shower head. The counter is a little high though. Not a problem. The beds were very low and not the best.
