LAYOUT
The main tourist areas of Bohol are located in Tagbilaran, Loboc, Carmen and Panglao Island. Most of the tours in Bohol start from Tagbilaran and then head towards Loboc and Carmen.
Tagbilaran
Tagbilaran City is Bohol’s capital and sits at the southwest side of Bohol, across the Bohol Strait from Cebu. Bohol’s small airport is located in Tagbilaran and so is the Baclayon Church and most of the main hotels. It’s the most modern and accessible city – the only city in the Bohol province – in Bohol and most visitors start their touring there. Carlos P. Garcia Ave is Tagbilaran’s main street.
Loboc
Loboc is famous for the Loboc River, aka Green River, where daily cruises and the floating restaurants have brought fame and popularity to the city. En route from Loboc to Carmen are miles of scenic rice paddies.
Carmen
Carmen’s the man – the town! Carmen is where you will find the Chocolate Hills Complex, the man made forest and the butterfly sanctuary.
Panglao Island
Panglao Island, Bohol is an island connected to Tagbilaran City by two 50 meter bridges. Panglao Island is the home to some of the prettiest beaches in the world. Among the most revered beaches are Alona Beach, located at the southwest tip of Panglao Island and Danao.
