ATMs and Banks in Beijing
Popular and prevalent banks in Beijing are Bank of China, China Construction Bank and HSBC. If you are a Bank of America member, use the China Construction Bank ATM. China Construction Bank is an international affiliate with Bank of America. You will pay a very nominal international fee and no out of network ATM fee. A couple of China Construction Banks are located just west of Tiananmen Square on the south side of Chang’an and further west on the north side on Fuxing just next to the Beijing Books Building.
Currency: Chinese Yuan or Chinese RMB
Money, Cash Machines, ATMs: Best to use a cash machine.
Tipping
There is no tipping in Beijing but there are service charges between 10 to 15% at higher end hotels and restaurants. However, bellboys and cab drivers do appreciate and accept tips.
