Hollywood Walk of Fame
Overview: Where do mere mortals become immortalized by other mortals? You guessed it. The Hollywood Walk of Fame enjoys the distinction of being the top dog in Hollywood as far as tourist attractions are concerned. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an inevitable site if you are walking around on Hollywood Blvd. It is pretty exciting to walk around and seeing the names of superstars such as Johnny Depp, Jamie Foxx, and Marilyn Monroe on the sidewalks. Even game show hosts such as Bob Barker and Pat Sajak have stars.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame solutes and celebrates not only actors, singers and directors but also famous characters such as Big Bird and The Simpsons. Not commonly known, the stars on the sidewalk have emblems which represent varies categories in which the famous person or character is placed. The category symbols are motion picture camera (most famous representing stars), phonograph record (singers), television set (tv stars), radio microphone (radio personalities) and twin theater masks (theater).
The Hollywood Walk of Fame starts from Hollywood and Gower (east) to La Brea (west). Because not all names and stars can fit on Hollywood Blvd, some stars are located on streets that run perpendicular from Hollywood Blvd to Sunset Blvd.
Cost: Free
Accessibility: The sidewalks are wheelchair accessible.
