The Comedy Store
Overview: “The World Famous Comedy Store.” The Comedy Store, located at the corner of Sunset Blvd and Olive Dr (it has an unmistakable white medallion sign perched atop the building), has brought home the comedian bacond over the years. It has its beginnings in 1972 by Pauly Shores’s parents.
The Comedy Store has three rooms: the Original Room, Belly Room and Main Room. The Main Room has special event comedy shows and feature comedians on Saturdays. The Belly Room and Original Room have regular shows throughout the week. The Comedy Store has a lot of history as far as legendary comedians are concerned. Robin Williams has appeared there in the early 1970s; Richard Pryor made his comeback there in 1972; and Jim Carrey had his start there.
Note that the Comedy Store can be pricey, as the club has a two-drinks minimum, which must be paid for upfront. Friday and Saturday nights will cost you $20 to enter the comedy club.
