ACME Comedy Theatre
Overview: One of Los Angeles’ popular comedy theaters, the ACME Comedy Theatre, has been around since 1989 and was founded by M.D. Sweeney. Some of the theater’s performers have gone on to win national awards and acted in, produced and written for some of the most popular TV shows. The ACME Comedy Theatre is located on La Brea Ave between Beverly Blvd and 3rd St on the east end of the Miracle Mile area.
An alternative to your customary stand-up comedy, the 99-seat ACME Comedy Theatre is all about improvisation and sketch comedy. The three different troupes or companies perform narrative improve back to back at the theater and three companies perform sketches throughout the week. The theatre also offers classes on improvisation and sketch writing. Some of the biggest names in comedy have ether performed and/or have their roots there. Think Wayne Brady, Adam Corolla and David Faustino.

Cost: Tickets for the ACME Comedy Theatre range from $8 – $20, depending on the show. Online purchases can be made, usually $2 cheaper.
Parking: Note that La Brea Ave around this area gets a lot of traffic during peak lunch and evening hours as well as Friday and Saturday nights when people are out and about. There are metered parking spots along the street. If you have a handicap placard, you can park in the surrounding residential areas without penalty from the parking enforcement.
