The Grove Pacific Theatre
Overview: The Grove Pacific Theatre is a 14 screen movie theatre complex located at Fairfax and 3rd Street in the Miracle Mile (Mid-Wilshire) area of Los Angeles. The theatre complex is just a small part of the vast pedestrian-only, retail and entertainment center, The Grove.
The Grove Pacific Theatre is set directly in the center of The Grove. While the theatre does not have assigned seating, it’s a beautiful, clean theatre with an enormously high ceiling and comfortable, plush seats. Becuase there are 14 screens, The Grove Pacific Theatre can and do run the gamut of movie types – from indie and topical to blockbusters. A movie experience can be great here.
I will note that if you just want to see a movie – and that is it – then you may want to catch a flick at The Landmark in West Los Angeles. The upscale theatre at The Grove packs in everyone, at least, all the nearby high schools. Friday nights and weekends pose difficulties to find handicap parking and you have to drive up the multi-level parking lot for longer than your patience can hold sometimes. Also, because The Grove is so popular, movie tickets tend to sell out very fast, or the lines are long, especially the blockbusters or any movie that’s high profile. But, if you are looking for a nice overall entertainment experience with a little retail shopping, a casual saunter through a pretty area, and have a good meal or at the Farmer’s Market, The Grove is your place.
