Michal Machek Apartments
Renting an apartment in Prague for a longer stay – a week or more – is the most budget conscious way to lodge. However, accessible apartments in Prague are few.
I stayed at this family owned apartment building. It’s neighborhood has the distinction of being one of the most desirable places to live by the locals. The neighborhood is truly beautiful. I stayed one night. However, there were serious accessibility issues. I can take a step but this apartment had an awkward, slanted two steps at the entrance with about three feet clearance from the door to the edge or the top step. Then, five more steps down to the ground level apartment. There was a miscommunication.
If, however, you’re in a wheelchair and can stand and pull your wheelchair up stairs or down, then this might be a good option for you.
Michal, the owner, is as nice as the Czech people come. He even helped me pull my suitcase to a hotel nearby so I didn’t have to call a cab.
