Overview: The Prague airport is roughly 16 – 17 miles west of the city center in Prague 6. The Prague airport has simple arrival and departure terminals. (Terminal 4 for my international travels). It´s not a maze like London and Frankfurt. The exit terminal is straightforward and there were only a couple of turns to take at the departure gates to other destinations. Immigration of customs is quick. The lines are short and sweet. Security does search you thoroughly, taking a scanner to even under your wheelchair.
Handicap Airport Services: Handicap services should be taken care of at the ticket counter.
Staff: Staff here is helpful, especially the ticket counter representatives. The ticket counter employees made sure that I was able to take my wheelchair to the door of the plane. The flight attendants were courteous and professional when boarding and disembarking the aircraft. They made sure that I received the wheelchair at the arrival destination.
Money, Cash Machines ATMs: There are several cash machines at the exits of the terminals. ATMs in Czech are called Bankomats. Tip: withdraw money from a cash machine, then exchange a 1000 or 500 note at Relay, a convenience store next to the cash machines for the cab fair.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms are large and are placed in the same room as the other men´s room but in a separate room. Handles on either side of the toilet and adjustable mirrors.
Airport to City Center: There are a few options to reach the city center. You can take a cab, which is the easiest. You can arrange a hotel service. Check out the Prague page for transportation information and costs.
