Handicraft Villages
Batubulan is the most well-known of handicraft villages in Bali. In addition to hosting great, traditional Balinese performances (Barong dance), Batubulan boasts some of Bali’s finest sandstone carvings and statues. Batubulan is about 5 miles north of Denpasar.
Tegallalang maybe overshadowed by Batubulan but the village has an incredibly long street of storefronts with stone and wood handicrafts. You can purchase items wholesale here. It also has an incredible rice field terrace. Tegallalang is located near Ubud.
When you drive up from south Bali, you will pass by many small villages, including Celuk Village, that display their silver and gold handiwork. Just ask the driver to stop.
