Bi Feng Tang
This is quite an experience in Shanghai. Head towards the start of the East Nanjing Lu shopping district near Tongren Lu and you’ll see a line of private bamboo alcoves with tables along the sidewalk on Nanjing. At night, reddish orange lanterns give these tables a special feel. This sidewalk set up belongs to Bi Feng Tang restaurant. It appears expensive but it’s not. The food is, in fact, tasty but the food is served in small portions and brought out one at a time with rice being the last dish to be served. The bamboo alcove seating outside really adds a great foodie experience.
Location: 1333 Nanjing Xi Lu (by Tongren Lu), Shanghai
Cost: 50 – 100 Yuan
Accessibility: The entrance to the restaurant itself has a few steps. The sidewalk tables has a step.
