Man Mo Temple
Located in the northern part of Central district on Hong Kong Island in the Sheugn Wan, the historic Man Mo Temple was built in the mid 1800s. Hong Kong’s Man Mo Temple is one of the most renown and oldest temples. This Taoist temple, which has giant incense bell-shaped coils hanging from the ceiling, is dedicated to two gods: god of literature and god of war. The temple’s name “Man” and “Mo” translates, respectively, to the two gods. In the temple, the literature deity is represented in a red robe, holding a calligraphy bush, while the war deity dawns a green robe and a sword.
